Entertainment/Music, Theatre and Dance
If you believe that dance expresses the soul and philosophy of a people, then you can’t miss a performance at the “Dora Stratou” garden theatre. Located opposite Acropolis, at the rear of Philopappou Hill, it is a living museum of the greek dances, the ideal place to spend a cool summer night experiencing the greek tradition. On the set, created by painter Spyros Vasiliou, 75 dancers, musicians and signers perform for about 90 minutes, a range of the greek dancing tradition of different areas – each one being presented with their original regional costumes, musical instruments, songs and dances. Programme changes every second Wendesday. If you wish to share the spirit following the steps of the dancers, free lessons are available during June and September while there are  regular courses throughout the year.
