Arts & Culture/Gallery
Tasos Zoumboulakis with his wife Peggy opened in 1961 a contemporary art space in Kriezotou street, in order to continue the family tradition (his father had opened an antiques shop in Athens in 1912) presenting works of the upcoming at that time generation of Greek artists like Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, Giannis Tsarouhis, Giannis Moralis. Fifty years later, Zoumboulakis gallery remains one of the most famous art spaces in the city. Along with the main exhibition space housed in a large basement in Kolonaki square with collections of famous and most recent Greek artists, Zoumboulakis galleries also include a modern space in Kriezotou street focused on design and art objects offering many ideas for shopping and additionally a place of multipurpose events housed in a former factory in Pireos street.
